2. Overview of CTI and introduction to its core components (120 minutes) Overview of CTI practice, including its core components, fidelity assessment, and quality metrics. Introduction to obtaining a biopsychosocial history from Veterans and engaging Veterans in treatment planning, including ways to make connections and linkages to VA and community resources. 3. Case management planning for each phase of CTI (120 minutes) Uses stages of change to assess Veterans' motivation for housing throughout the three phases of CTI. 4. Preparing Veterans to progress through the phases of CTI (120 minutes) Detailed overview of sequential steps of skill building among Veterans as they progress through the phases of CTI and changing expectations of case management as the phases progress. Delivered by Housing Innovations ![]()

CTI termination, tenancy education, and the harm reduction model (120 minutes) Guidance for ending CTI; tenancy and leasing education for Veterans; roles of property managers/landlords and case managers in CTI practice; eviction prevention resources; and a discussion of harm reduction-oriented treatment plans. - All sessions are delivered via synchronous videoconference; all sessions are recorded for later viewing by Grant and Per Diem-Case Management (GPD-CM) staff who cannot attend a session live.
- Housing Innovations provides training and consultation to agencies and clinicians throughout the country to expand their capacity to deliver effective services and implement evidence-based practices relevant to adults who have experienced homelessness. Housing Innovations staff have significant experience providing training within VA homeless programs.
